From December 2011 to April of 2012, Deborah and I went on our longest stretch of travel so far: including Christmas in Alberta with family, we were away four and a half months, door-to-door.  It included a figure 8 of the North and South Islands of New Zealand over a seven week visit; a week in Fiji; and the U.S. south and southwest cities of Salt Lake City, Las Vegas, Los Angeles and the west coast of California including Yosemite and the Sequoia National Forest, Route 66, the Grand Canyon, Tucson, Las Cruces, San Antonio, Galveston, New Orleans, Memphis, and Nashville (the last seven we called the "musical cities" leg of our tour).

Beginning in Australia and continuing through New Zealand and South American destinations over the years, I used Blogspot.com to assemble and host my travel blogs, instead of my own website.  Our travel blog for New Zealand, called Kiwi Dreams, consists of 49 entries, which appear in reverse order.
The first entry begins in December of 2011 in Alberta, but can be found at the bottom of this page: "January 2012".  From there you can click through to later months in descending order in the "Archives", and see the entries listed by month.  On every page, the first entry is always at the bottom, and from there you have to scroll up to see subsequent entries.

[ed. March 2021: within each blog entry are links to slideshows of the photos we collected as we traveled; my current project is to repair bad links caused by defunct web pages and by Google taking over Picasa, killing the slideshow function and messing up the urls by creating a new set of "albums" in Google Photos.]

If you have comments or questions and you are researching such a trip for yourself, feel welcome to email me.
